ING Discerning Eye

The ING Discerning Eye is calling for entries for a brand-new edition. The show gives artists the opportunity to showcase their work at the Mall Galleries in London and in a unique virtual exhibition, with the chance to win a range of prizes, including the ING Purchase Prize, worth £5,000.

The online submission process will be open until Friday 30 August 2024, giving artists from across the UK the opportunity to submit their work and take part. Please read all the information below carefully before entering.

The exhibition will open at the Mall Galleries from the 15 to 24 November alongside a virtual gallery showcasing all the artists’ shortlisted works with commentary and introductions by the selectors. Awards will be given out to the winners in a prize giving at the start of the exhibition.

Open to: open to all artists resident in the UK
Entry cost: Artists may submit up to six works. Entry fees are listed below.
One work – £15
Two works – £30
Three works – £40
Four works – £50
Five works – £60
Six works – £70
Deadline: 30th of August 2024 
Prize: Artists can benefit from many prizes offered by both ING and a number of other generous sponsors.

The Discerning Eye Founder’s Prize – in honour of Michael Reynolds, £2,500
The Discerning Eye Chair’s Purchase Prize, £1,000
The Mervyn Metcalf Purchase Prize, £500
Parker Harris Prize: one year’s subscription to The Art Ladder mentoring programme for artists, and two one-to-one mentoring sessions, worth £600
Tabish Khan’s Critic Purchase Prize, £200
The Discerning Eye Sculpture Prize, £300
