Description

Small But Mighty showcases all forms of printmaking and highlights the powerful, ambitious and impressive nature of works created on a small scale.

This open submission exhibition, established by the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) aims to to create long-term opportunities for artists and promote printmaking to a wider audience. 

This year’s Guest Curator is James Arnold, Programmes and Collections Manager at The Harris Museum and Art Gallery in Preston, Lancashire.

The exhibition of works selected will take place at Bankside Gallery from 19-29 September 2024.

The size limit for works in this exhibition is 50cm on the longest edge (including framing).

Open to: UK & International artists (18 and over)
Entry cost: £16 per work (max 6 works, students £10 per work)
Deadline: 3rd of June 2024 
Prize: John Purcell Paper Award: £200 (worth of paper)
Oliver Pattison Framing Prize: £120 (worth of framing)
Society of Wood Engravers Prize: £100 (cash prize plus one year subscription to the SWE journal Multiples)
Intaglio Printmaker Prize: £100 (art supplies voucher)
Hawthorn Printmaker Supplies Award: £150 (worth of materials)
Marcus Campbell Art Books: £100 (to spend on books in store)
Southbank Printmakers Prize: £75 (cash prize)
