BIOGRAPHY
Tatiana Talshade, aka Tatiana Belous is a Ukrainian born British artist based in London. Being a mother of three it was challenging pursuing artistic calling in Ukraine at the time. Tatiana and her family fled the war in 2014 and only after settling in the UK she was able to dedicate herself to creativity. Having the solid basis of classical painting school she uses her skills to reflect on myths and archetypes.
She draws inspiration in her dreams which gives her paintings quite a Jungian taste and makes one think of magical realism. She works primarily with oil on canvas. Her works are exhibited internationally and are kept in private collections in different parts of the world. She was longlisted for the BP Portrait Prize by National Portrait Gallery.
Tatyana is concerned with themes of motherhood, being a mother of a disabled child, and complexities of a woman’s place in society and family. She hopes to contribute to creating a more balanced world with no place for violence and brutal dominance.
